Hot Shots is the name of our monthly event at Wildflower. It happens on the last Saturday of every month. The whole front of the cafe gets transformed for the morning and we run live music, a market, and whatever else feels right that month.
We launched it earlier in 2026 and it's quickly become one of our favourite things we do.
What actually happens at Hot Shots
You roll up to Wildflower like you would any other day, except the lights are different and there's music playing and a small market set up. The Espresso side is open with seasonal drinks. There's usually something tasty being served that we wouldn't normally have on the regular menu.
It's an evening event (we'll always post the timing on socials beforehand). It's free to come in. You can stay for the whole thing or pop in for half an hour.
Why we started it
We've always wanted Wildflower to be more than a place you grab coffee from. Wallsend deserves a regular community night, somewhere people can gather without it being a pub or a club or a paid event. Hot Shots is our attempt at that.
The first one in March 2026 was honestly amazing. We were nervous (we always are when we try something new) and the community showed up like we hoped they would. People stayed for hours.
What's coming up
Last Saturday of the month, every month.
We'll keep changing what we feature, so no two Hot Shots are quite the same. Live music is the constant. Markets, special drinks, themed nights, anything we can think of.
